InstrumentsI built my first harpsichord, one of the original Zuckermann 5-foot slant-side instruments, in 1962, and sold it a year later. Since then I've made more than 50 harpsichords, clavichords, and fortepianos, most of them from Zuckermann parts. As a long-time Zuckermann agent I am authorized to sell both kits and finished instruments for ZHI.I also do repair work. I find it interesting and challenging, and I take great satisfaction in making silent and wounded instruments sing again. Here are a few of the harpsichords and clavichords I've built over the years from ZHI parts. The French double is mine, and resides in my living room. The little octave virginal lives in my study. The others went to recent customers.
